Military Experience
Ryon enlisted as buck private in the Army after high school. Ryon completed Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Ryon continued his military training at Fort Huachuca, Arizona in the field of Counterintelligence. He was assigned to the New York Resident Office (NYRO) at Fort Hamilton, New York. Ryon received three promotions in under 2 years. Ryon was awarded an Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Army Superior Unit Award while a member of the 902nd MI Group under the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Ryon finished his enlistment with an honorable discharge.
Personal
David and his wife Julie were married on September 8, 2007. David and Julie had their first baby daughter Kaylee Rose on July 25, 2008. David has three children that live with their mom in Columbus. Megan is a sophomore at Hilliard-Davidson High School. Megan is a member of the Hilliard-Davidson Color Guard. Anna is an 8th grader at Weaver Middle School. Anna plays for the Weaver Middle School Girls Soccer Team. Nathan is a 6th grader at Hilliard Tharp School. Nathan plays soccer in the Greater Outerbelt Youth Soccer League. David and Julie are Roman Catholic and attend mass at
Church of the Resurrection. David is a 3rd degree knight with the
Knights of Columbus Council 10941 and member of
American Legion Post 614, Hilliard, Ohio. David has over 13 years experience as an I.T. Operational Support Specialist.

Campaign for U.S. House of Representatives
On March 24, 2009, The FEC accepted forms 1 and 2 from David Ryon indicating his intent to run for Congress in the 15th congressional district of Ohio.
